Yekaterinburg’s Площадь 1905 года (Ploshchad 1905 goda/1905 Square) will be transformed into a vibrant festival space this July, hosting the “Summer in the Square” event. The festival aims to create a dynamic and engaging environment for residents.

The concept, managed by the team from Маяковского (Mayakovsky) Park, envisions a central location adorned with numerous green spaces and unique architectural installations. These structures are designed for easy assembly, allowing the square to quickly adapt for various events such as sports competitions, exhibitions, concerts, and fairs.

Mayor Alexey Orlov announced the plans via his Telegram channel, highlighting the city’s commitment to revitalizing the public space. The “Atmofest,” now known as “Atmosfera,” previously utilized the square, and an ice rink was installed there during the winter, proving popular with residents.

The transformation follows years of discussion regarding the future of Площадь 1905 года (Ploshchad 1905 goda/1905 Square). Earlier proposals, including the idea of creating a beach, were not well-received by the public.
