Zlatko Perinski Visits Veles Municipality to Discuss Infrastructure and Development Projects

The Minister of Local Self-Government, Zlatko Perinski, visited the Municipality of Veles to discuss current and future projects with Mayor Marko Kolev and members of the Municipal Council. The focus was on infrastructure development and the support measures that the Municipality will implement with the backing of the central government.

The Municipality of Veles had one project approved in the first government call, specifically the landscaping of a square and the construction of an underground garage in the central city area. For the second government call, which ends on April 30, the Municipality has submitted 16 applications.

The government investment for the square landscaping and garage construction is expected to significantly improve the urban appearance of Veles, providing new public space and greater opportunities for cultural and social activities. The underground garage aims to resolve parking issues in the city center, leading to a more efficient and safer traffic system, which is particularly important for urban mobility.

Perinski emphasized the government’s continuous support for municipalities to foster greater development in each community. The meeting concluded that strong local communities are essential for building a strong state.

This visit is part of Perinski’s ongoing field visits to municipalities to understand the challenges in local self-government units and to develop strategies to overcome them.
