Macedonia is bracing for a significant weather change as a powerful cyclone impacts eastern Europe. A cold front bringing snow and strong winds is approaching, set to dramatically drop temperatures.
Currently, Macedonia enjoys sunny weather with Skopje at 14 degrees Celsius. However, the Hydrometeorological Service forecasts a cold air mass intrusion from the north, bringing mostly cloudy conditions with rain, transitioning to rain and snow in higher elevations.
Mountainous areas anticipate snow accumulation of 10 to 15 centimeters. A strong north wind, exceeding 70 kilometers per hour, will exacerbate the temperature decrease.
Monday may see occasional light snow due to the persistent north wind. Afterward, stable but windy conditions are expected, with morning temperatures falling below zero, potentially reaching minus 7 degrees Celsius.
A gradual temperature increase is anticipated towards the end of next week.
