A member of VMRO-DPMNE’s Central Committee, Valentin Manasievski, has accused Sashko Mitovski, the mayor of Kriva Palanka, of abusing his official position and behaving like a “sheriff” in the municipality. At a press conference today, Manasievski detailed instances where he believes Mitovski acted unlawfully and for personal gain.
Manasievski stated that Mitovski allegedly signed a building permit that was not legally valid due to lack of supervision and control. He further alleged that Mitovski approved a decision for the installation of urban equipment for a catering facility owned by his brother, Milan Mitovski, which he claims is a violation of the law.
According to Manasievski, Mitovski’s behavior exemplifies how SDS mayors treat municipalities as their private businesses, acting with impunity. He claims that a criminal complaint has been filed against Mitovski and three others related to the urban equipment installation decision.
Manasievski dismissed the notion that Mitovski is a victim of any regime, arguing that he is simply a local “sheriff” abusing his power for personal gain. He expressed confidence that Mitovski will lose the upcoming elections, as the citizens of Kriva Palanka are tired of a mayor who allegedly assaults his fellow citizens. Manasievski concluded by stating that the citizens of Kriva Palanka need change, and VMRO-DPMNE will provide that change through its candidate.
