VMRO-DPMNE has accused SDSM of spreading false information regarding the voting records of European People’s Party (EPP) members in the European Parliament. According to VMRO-DPMNE, SDSM is falsely claiming that EPP members voted against North Macedonia, when in reality, only the Bulgarian members voted against the report on the progress of North Macedonia.

VMRO-DPMNE asserts that SDSM is working against the interests of North Macedonia and undermining the country’s dignity. The party questions why SDSM would allegedly want to see North Macedonia fail and accuses them of consistently acting against the citizens’ interests for the past 30 years.

VMRO-DPMNE clarified that on June 24, 2025, the Committee on Foreign Affairs of the European Parliament (AFET) adopted the Report on the progress of North Macedonia, prepared by rapporteur Tomas Waitz. The party emphasizes that the report confirms the Macedonian language, Macedonian identity, and the European perspective of the country, thanks to their continuous commitment and principled approach.

VMRO-DPMNE underscored the importance of clear goals and unified action in overcoming challenges to national identity and existence. The party affirmed the Macedonian identity, language, and history.

VMRO-DPMNE views the European Parliament’s procedure as an encouragement to continue on the path of reforms, the rule of law, and institutional stability.
