VMRO-DPMNE has accused former Health Minister Venko Filipche of engaging in business activities in Bulgaria, including managing a company registered at the same address as companies linked to the Zaevi family, while Macedonia faced health and energy crises. The opposition party alleges that Filipche’s focus is on these Bulgarian ventures even as he is purportedly positioning himself within SDS.

Filipche is currently listed as the manager of the Bulgarian company Power Eye 8, which he fully owns. According to electronic registers, the company’s status remains active.

Power Eye 8 was established on November 18, 2022, with its headquarters in Petrich, Bulgaria, at an address shared by numerous companies associated with the Zaevi family. The company is registered for various activities, including building construction, apartment sales and rentals, trade, and hotel operations.

VMRO-DPMNE questions whether Filipche’s position as president of SDS facilitates easier cooperation with Bulgaria and the expansion of his business interests. The party demands that Filipche disclose the specific activities and businesses of Power Eye 8 in Macedonia, Bulgaria, the Persian Gulf, and Dubai.

The accusations come after previous allegations against Filipche, including scandals related to procurement and commissions for Chinese vaccines and the construction of a luxury hacienda on Vodno.
