The “Vlen” coalition is scheduled to convene today at 2 PM to determine its course of action following the Alliance for Albanians’ decision to run independently in the upcoming local council elections. The meeting’s outcome will clarify the coalition’s stance on the matter.
First Deputy Prime Minister Izet Medziti, a member of the “Vlen” coalition, confirmed that the public will be informed of the coalition’s official position after the meeting concludes.
This development follows an announcement by Arben Taravari, President of the Alliance for Albanians, stating that his party will remain within the “Vlen” coalition but will field its own separate lists of candidates for councilor positions in the local elections.
“We remain in the coalition unless they exclude us, then we will act accordingly,” Taravari stated, indicating a willingness to remain part of the coalition unless explicitly removed.
Regarding the selection of candidates for mayoral positions, Taravari clarified that no decisions have been made on that front as of yet.
