Venko Krstevski has been elected as the acting mayor of the Municipality of Kochani. The election took place today during the 62nd session of the Kochani Council.

During the session, Krstevski, a councilor elected from a group of voters, put forward his candidacy for the acting mayor position. VMRO-DPMNE nominated Goce Markov, the coordinator of their councilor group, for the same role.

In a related development, Kristina Atanasova Arsova, a councilor from VMRO-DPMNE, resigned from her position during the session.

Atanasova Arsova expressed remorse, stating, “I will ask for forgiveness and an apology from all the citizens who voted for me as part of the councilor list, because I failed to realize many things because those things were not a priority for the mayor and the leadership. Driven by their vanities, carried away by the power of the functions, they only cared about their own interests.”

She further explained that she would now focus on supporting her child, who was injured in the fire at the “Pulse” disco, and all other injured children. “All the ideals in this world are not worth as much as the tears of one child,” Atanasova-Arsovska said, visibly emotional.
