Venko Filipche, President of the Social Democratic Union of Macedonia, congratulated citizens on Macedonian Language Day, May 5th, emphasizing its significance as the root of national identity and a key international promoter. He highlighted the language’s recognition and equal status within the United Nations and the European Union.

Filipche stated that this recognition is a result of dedicated state policy and a clear vision. He noted the government’s declaration of May 5th as Macedonian Language Day, commemorating the adoption of the Macedonian alphabet as the official script in 1945.
