Venko Filipche, the President of SDSM, has stated that the citizens will be the ultimate judge of his success in revitalizing SDSM into a winning party. He made these remarks during a television appearance, emphasizing his commitment to consolidating the party and continuing its ongoing renewal efforts.
Filipche underscored that SDSM’s goal has always been to earn the trust of the citizens and work in their best interests, rather than seeking power at any cost. He expressed the party’s determination to continue its work, not only in preparation for the upcoming local elections but also in the years to come.
He criticized the current government led by VMRO-DPMNE, citing uncontrolled price increases, stagnant wages, reduced living standards, and delays in salary and VAT payments for businesses. Filipche asserted that the country is experiencing a severe economic and social crisis, with the government failing to address the daily challenges faced by citizens.
Filipche also accused the government of widespread partisan practices within state institutions, alleging that unqualified individuals are being reassigned to distant locations as punishment for not being affiliated with VMRO-DPMNE or a party within the ruling coalition. He claimed that the government is attempting to mask the difficult economic situation through propaganda, while the reality for many citizens is a struggle for survival.
Because of these circumstances, Filipche stated that SDSM has an even greater responsibility to strengthen its structure, restore the trust of the citizens and work diligently.
