North Macedonia reported two new COVID-19 cases last week, from March 24 to March 30, according to the Institute of Public Health.
Laboratories conducting molecular and antigen testing for SARS-CoV-2 processed a total of 213 materials, a 1.8 percent decrease compared to the previous week.
As of March 30, 2025, a total of 31 infected individuals have been registered this year. The number of infections in March 2025 is three less than the number recorded in February 2025. Throughout 2025, a total of 3,973 materials have been tested in laboratories where molecular testing for SARS-CoV-2 is performed, as well as in healthcare institutions utilizing rapid antigen tests.
The Institute recommends adhering to basic preventive measures against COVID-19 and other respiratory infectious diseases.
Vaccination remains a key preventive measure, offering protection against severe illness, although its effectiveness diminishes over time. Vaccination is still recommended for individuals at high risk of severe disease and adverse outcomes, such as the elderly.
