As of 7:00 AM today, authorities in North Macedonia have reported a total of 29 open-air fires across the country. Of these, 10 remain active, while 3 are under control, and 16 have been successfully extinguished.

The active fires are spread across several municipalities. In the Municipality of Vasilevo, Radovish, and Berovo, fires are burning near v. Nivichino, Golem Goten Mountain, and the Maleshevski Mountains, affecting low-stem forests, spruce trees, shrubs, and low vegetation. Two separate fires are active in the Municipality of Prilep: the first near v. Beshishte, loc. Beshiski Rid, with branches extending towards v. Gradeshnica and the border with R. Greece, impacting mixed forests; and the second near v. Dren, with a portion between v. Tsarevik and Smolani now under control, affecting mixed forests and low vegetation.

Additional active fires are located in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod: one near v. Creshnevo, burning low vegetation, and another between the villages of Lokvica and Krapa, affecting degraded oak forests, shrubs, and low vegetation. Fires are also reported in the Municipality of Shtip, between v. Dragoevo and Selce, impacting low-stem forests, prnar, and dry grass; in the Municipality of Zelenikovo, near v. Gumalevo, affecting low and mixed vegetation; in the Municipality of Zelino, between v. Cerovo and Grupcin, impacting low-stem and degraded forests; and in the Municipality of Strumica, near loc. Tri Vodi, affecting vegetation.

Fires that are currently under control are located in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod near v. Greshnica, affecting mixed forests and dry grass; in the Municipality of Shuto Orizari at Brsjachka Buna str., an illegal landfill; and in the Municipality of Karbinci near v. Junuzlija, affecting a forest.

The 16 extinguished fires were located in the Municipality of Shuto Orizari near the municipality (garbage), in the Municipality of Prilep near the Barracks (garbage and dry grass), in the Municipality of Resen 1 near v. Dolno Perovo (reeds and low vegetation), in the Municipality of Resen 2 near v. Preljubje (dry grass), in the Municipality of Makedonski Brod near v. Latovo (mixed forest), in the Municipality of Kochani 1 near v. Nivichani (low forest and dry grass), in the Municipality of Kochani 2 near DOOEL “Stoimenov”, Kochani (dry grass), in the Municipality of Kochani 3 near v. Mojanci (stubble and dry grass), in the Municipality of Kumanovo near v. Romanovce (dry grass), in the Municipality of Lipkovo near v. Nikushtak (dry grass), in the Municipality of Gostivar on the Gostivar-Tetovo highway, near Bunar Petrol (dry grass), in the Municipality of Staro Nagoricane near v. Rugjince and v. Orah (forest, dry grass, and house), in the Municipality of Kumanovo 1 near n. Ristovo trlo (dry grass), in the Municipality of Kumanovo 2 near v. Romanovce (dry grass), in the Municipality of Veles on ASNOM str. (dry grass), and in the Municipality of Rosoman between Rosoman and Gradsko (dry grass).
