SDSM MP Mile Taleski has strongly criticized the government’s nomination of Azir Aliu, an IT specialist, for Minister of Health, calling it an absurd and shameful decision. Taleski questioned Aliu’s knowledge of the healthcare system, including the number of hospitals and health centers in the country, emphasizing that digitalization, while important, should not overshadow the fundamental need for quality healthcare for citizens.
Taleski referenced Prime Minister Mickoski’s justification for Aliu’s appointment, which centered on prioritizing digitalization within the healthcare sector. He argued that while digitalization is valuable, it cannot replace adequate patient care, particularly in light of recent tragedies.
Taleski urged Prime Minister Mickoski to visit Kočani and address the families and injured individuals affected by a tragic incident. He highlighted the lack of adequate care, treatment conditions, professional medical staff, and essential supplies, noting that these critical needs should take precedence over digitalization efforts. He emphasized that the government’s actions demonstrate a lack of empathy towards the citizens and victims, prioritizing the party’s image over the well-being of the population.
Taleski further accused the Prime Minister of displaying arrogance, insults, belittling behavior, threats, and denials during parliamentary discussions. He lamented the lack of cooperation with the families of the deceased and injured in the Kočani tragedy. He also criticized VMRO-DPMNE for allegedly hiring a PR agency to manage their image during a time of national mourning, demonstrating a focus on public perception rather than genuine concern for the people.
