A lost mountaineer was efficiently located near Mrežičko on Mount Kožuf, according to the Crisis Management Center.

The CMC received an emergency call on 112 at 13:15 today, reporting a lost person near the village of Mrežičko on Mount Kožuf.

The mountaineer from Skopje had spent the previous night on the mountain and, due to adverse weather and snowfall, became disoriented and requested assistance.

Authorities were promptly notified, with the Crisis Management Center alerting SIA Veles, PPA Kavadarci, Border Police “SOUTH,” the Emergency Service, the Municipality of Kavadarci, and the Mayor of Kavadarci, Mitko Janchev.

A local resident familiar with the terrain contacted the lost individual at 14:00, successfully locating him and transporting him to a nearby safe house. The border police “SOUTH” then transported the mountaineer to the city.
