The Stobi archaeological site is currently hosting creative workshops focused on reconstructing Roman social games and weapons, bringing the ancient world back to life. Led by Vasilka Dimitrovska, an archaeologist and certified heritage interpretation trainer, these workshops are part of a “Living History” concept.
The “Living History” initiative aims to bridge the gap between scientific study, education, and public engagement by reviving historical practices. Archaeologist Ivan Ilić from Serbia and Damjan Serafimovski from the Museum of the City of Skopje are actively participating in the process.
Stobi is evolving into a dynamic space where history is not just studied but also experienced firsthand.
Selected reconstructed items will be incorporated into the educational programs of “Storytelling Macedonia.” This initiative utilizes narrative interpretation, hands-on activities, and direct engagement to make heritage more accessible to contemporary audiences.
