State Market Inspectorate Conducts Inspections and Issues Fines to Hospitality Businesses

The State Market Inspectorate conducted 297 inspections of hospitality establishments across the country between March 17 and April 10, 2025. These inspections focused on compliance with minimum technical conditions and other provisions of the Law on Hospitality Activities.

As a result of these inspections, 360 misdemeanor payment orders were issued, totaling 3,436,000.00 denars.

A total of 28 decisions for temporary prohibition of activity were issued to establishments operating without a license or failing to meet minimum technical conditions. Additionally, 12 decisions were made to address irregularities identified under the Law on Hospitality Activities.

The inspections targeted a wide range of establishments, including disco clubs, open-air disco clubs, night clubs, cabarets, café bars, inns, restaurants, wedding restaurants, bistros, hotels, and other similar entities.

Out of 23 legal entities with active licenses, 17 were found to have irregularities related to compliance with minimum technical conditions.

Seven of these establishments have since rectified the irregularities following additional inspections requested by the legal entities themselves. The competent authorities confirmed that these establishments had addressed the deficiencies within the legally prescribed 30-day period, and this information has been submitted to the Ministry of Economy and Labor.

The remaining legal entities without active licenses or those that have submitted a request to the Ministry of Economy and Labor and are not currently operating are being closely monitored. Appropriate measures will be taken in accordance with the law.

The State Market Inspectorate is preparing a complete and detailed report on these inspections. The Government expects to receive this report, covering all nine departments responsible for different regions of the country, in the following week.

The government emphasizes that this is not a one-time effort and remains committed to strengthening institutional responsibility and restoring public trust.
