During an official visit to Skopje, the Minister of Public Administration of the Republic of Slovenia, Frank Props, engaged in working meetings with representatives of the Ministry of Public Administration to strengthen cooperation and exchange best practices in the public sector.
Discussions centered on public administration reform, professionalizing administrative officials, and European integration.
The meetings with the Public Administration Reform Sector and the Academy for Professional Development of Administrative Officials Sector led to specific conclusions and steps for collaboration in the following areas: improving human resources management by adopting a merit system and European best practices for selecting, promoting, and training administrative officials; strengthening the capacities of the Training Academy by introducing new, practically oriented programs for professional development and career advancement; and monitoring and evaluating reforms by introducing mechanisms for measuring the effects of reform policies and adapting them to European standards.
Minister Minchev stressed that public administration reform is a key political issue that will affect the future of the country’s European integration.
Minister Props confirmed Slovenia’s support for the reforms, noting that North Macedonia should remain on the European path and that modernizing the administration is key in that process.
The official visit demonstrates that reforms are a strategic priority of the Government and that the country is ready to strengthen its administration in line with European values.
