Customs officials at the Blato and Bogorodica border crossings confiscated a significant amount of veterinary medications because the goods require permission from the Food and Veterinary Agency and are subject to trade policy regulations.
At the Bogorodica border crossing, authorities discovered a large quantity of veterinary medicines while inspecting a car with Bulgarian license plates returning from Thessaloniki; the passengers initially declared nothing. The inspection revealed 23 pieces of Intergonan 5000 IU, 12 bags containing 20 Cidr ovis pieces each, and 150 Ibendazile provet 600 pills, found in a black bag and a styrofoam box.
At the Blato border crossing, customs officers found 94 packages of veterinary medicines behind the seat of a car with Albanian license plates. The medicines included injection fluids (penstrep, maxtil, limoxin, penbex, and combikel), super spray sprays, exiptol tablets, and aloegel gels, all requiring import approval from the Food and Veterinary Agency.
