SDSM to Hold Direct Intra-Party Elections for President

The Social Democratic Union of Macedonia (SDSM) will hold direct intra-party elections for its President tomorrow, after a postponement due to a tragedy in Kochani. As the only party that elects its President through direct, intra-party elections, SDSM has prepared for voting at 78 polling stations across the republic, open from 08:00 to 20:00.

The Central Election Commission has finalized the Electoral Roll, which includes 23,712 actively registered members. They have also secured all necessary electoral materials, including screens for voting privacy, ballot boxes, and markings.

Actively registered SDSM members can vote in their municipality’s designated polling station by presenting their electronic SDSM membership card and a valid personal identification document (identity card or passport). Voting for members who are sick or infirm will take place one day prior to the general election.

The Central Election Commission is managing the election process, and results will be announced on Sunday after voting concludes. Detailed information regarding the elections, including decisions, regulations, and schedules, can be found on the SDSM website.
