SDSM: The government protects its own in the Kočani case, there is no justice

The opposition party SDSM accuses the government, led by Prime Minister Mickoski, of obstructing justice in the case of the Puls disco fire in Kočani, where several young people tragically lost their lives.

SDSM spokesperson Bogdanka Kuzeska stated that the Prime Minister’s characterization of the families seeking justice as wrong is indicative of the government’s overall attitude towards the tragedy.

Kuzeska asserts that the government is prioritizing the protection of its members over delivering justice for the victims and their families. She further claims that individuals connected to the ruling VMRO-DPMNE party, some of whom held leadership positions, were involved in the election headquarters and are now shielded from accountability under Mickoski’s protection.

The SDSM spokesperson criticizes what they perceive as selective arrests and the use of scapegoats, arguing that true justice requires thorough investigations and accountability for those currently under the Prime Minister’s protection. According to Kuzeska, anything short of this is merely an attempt to mislead the public and evade responsibility for officials closely associated with VMRO-DPMNE.
