SDSM Reacts to Appointment of Petar Bogojeski as Director

The appointment of Petar Bogojeski as director of the National Agency for European Educational Programs and Mobility has sparked controversy, with SDSM Vice President Kristina Kostova denouncing it as scandalous and unacceptable.

Kostova asserts that Bogojeski has a well-documented history of offensive, discriminatory behavior, and hate speech on public platforms. She argues that his past comments are degrading, sexist, discriminatory, Albanophobic, and racist, making him unfit for any position, especially one representing European educational programs.

According to Kostova, Bogojeski’s behavior clashes directly with the core values of respect, equality, and inclusiveness that underpin the European educational programs the Agency is meant to uphold. She contends that he is not only unqualified for the role but also sets a poor example for students.

Kostova believes that this appointment sends a concerning message about the priorities of the Government led by Mickoski and VMRO-DPMNE. She suggests that by appointing someone with a history of discrimination and hate speech to lead an agency promoting unity and progress, the government is undermining the institution’s importance and hindering educational improvement.

Kostova emphasizes that this appointment demonstrates the Government’s disregard for fundamental European values and ethical standards, which she deems unacceptable for leaders in education and public service.

SDSM plans to formally notify the representatives of the Directorate-General for Education and Culture of the European Commission about the controversial appointment. Kostova stresses that the agency director should embody respect, inclusiveness, and progress, not be a party-affiliated individual known for anti-European sentiments rooted in hatred and discrimination.
