The Sarajevo National Theatre will present two performances at the Macedonian National Theatre (MNT) on May 21 and 22, offering audiences a diverse theatrical experience.
On May 21 at 8:00 p.m., the play “The Sarajevo Merchant,” directed by Michal Dočekal, will be performed, featuring a cast of 16 actors including Mona Muratović and Mirvad Kurić. The play explores profound questions about life, theater, and the preservation of cultural heritage, stemming from an idea conceived 17 years ago and dedicated to the guardians of the Sarajevo Haggadah.
The following evening, May 22 at 8:00 p.m., the audience can see the play “Village Opera,” directed by Andraš Urban, which offers a satirical yet insightful commentary on universal values and societal issues, challenging ethnic and nationalistic perspectives, and incorporating a musical ensemble with performers such as Faud Šetić and Amar Beširević.
Tickets for both performances are available for purchase at the MNT box office and online.
