A demonstration concerning the “Who is Next” initiative took place in Skopje this afternoon.
The protest sought justice for the victims of numerous tragedies. The names of 61 individuals who perished in the “Puls” disco fire in Kochani were recited, along with the names of 14 victims of the modular hospital fire. Also mentioned were the 45 victims of the “Besa Trans” bus accident, the 16 victims of the “Durmo Tours” bus overturning near Laskarci, and the 22 victims of the Stajkovci flood on August 6, 2016. The names of those fatally struck by vehicles in the streets were additionally read aloud.
Anastasia Mitrevska from “Who is Next” stated that the protest was a fight against a system that forces the public to forget these tragedies, and was also for all the demands that have been made public so far.
The demonstration began in front of the Government building and proceeded toward the Parliament.
Finally, in front of the Basic Criminal Court in Skopje, representatives of “Who is Next” delivered speeches, declaring they are not mercenaries. They identified themselves as economists, lawyers, IT engineers, psychologists, doctors, teachers, and urban planners, unaffiliated with any political party.
