The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office in Skopje has launched an investigation against an individual suspected of motor vehicle theft and aggravated burglary. The suspect is accused of stealing a vehicle on July 3rd and burglarizing a catering facility.

On July 3rd, the suspect allegedly stole a “Volkswagen Golf 3” from a parking lot near the Green Market on “11th October” Street in Skopje. The vehicle was reportedly unlocked with the keys in the ignition, allowing the suspect to enter and drive away unnoticed.

In a separate incident, the suspect is accused of breaking into a catering facility near the Youth Cultural Center. The suspect allegedly forced entry through a kitchen window and stole an indoor air conditioning unit, a speaker, alcoholic beverages, food, and other items.

The estimated value of the stolen goods is approximately 65,000 denars, while the burglary caused about 6,000 denars in material damage.

Due to concerns about the suspect’s potential to flee, the public prosecutor has requested a detention order from the judge of preliminary procedure.
