Prime Minister Mickoski addressed the NATO Parliamentary Assembly, emphasizing the need for mechanisms to prevent bilateral disputes from obstructing shared objectives, particularly the country’s European future. He acknowledged past concessions made to achieve goals like NATO membership.
Mickoski stressed the importance of honest communication among allies, suggesting that mechanisms should be in place to address bilateral issues without hindering collective progress. He affirmed the country’s commitment to being a loyal partner and working towards common goals.
During the meeting with NATO parliamentary delegation heads, Mickoski highlighted the solidarity shown by allies following the tragedy in Kochani. He noted that ten European countries offered assistance, and some injured individuals received treatment abroad through the EU civil protection mechanism.
Mickoski emphasized that solidarity is a core principle of the Alliance, uniting members in joint efforts to preserve peace and security. He also noted the country’s active contribution to collective security and stability within NATO over the past five years.
The NATO Parliamentary Assembly meeting in Skopje coincides with the fifth anniversary of the country’s NATO membership and the 76th anniversary of NATO’s founding.
