The Port Authority issued eighteen violations for defects and non-compliance with navigation rules after increased controls on Lake Ohrid. Captain Ilija Arnaudoski of the Port Authority announced increased inspection supervisions in cooperation with the lake police in the coming months, particularly during the summer period. Violations were found in areas such as night sailing and passenger overloading, following regular and extraordinary vessel inspections. Inspections included three regular ship inspections, four extraordinary catamaran inspections, two extraordinary inspections of upgraded barges for up to 12 passengers, and 19 extraordinary inspections of small boats. Violations included night sailing, lacking a boat operator certificate, unregistered registration marks, and one catamaran fined for passenger overloading. Arnaudoski urged all inland navigation participants to register their boats promptly, fulfill vessel obligations, and adhere to safe navigation rules and measures.
