A police officer, A.S., and another individual, B.K., were apprehended in Veles following an investigation into the disclosure of an official secret. During a search of their vehicle, authorities discovered a backpack containing official documents from the Ministry of Interior. Mobile phones were also seized from the individuals.
The coordinated police action, involving the Department of Internal Control, Criminal Investigations, and Professional Standards and the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption, included searches of homes, vehicles, and individuals in the SIA Veles area. These searches led to the seizure of electronic devices, official documents, and other items of evidentiary value.
The Department of Internal Control, Criminal Investigations, and Professional Standards determined that the police officer violated internal regulations by possessing and disclosing official materials without authorization, thus committing the crime outlined in Article 360 of the Criminal Code.
A criminal complaint will be filed against A.S. with the Public Prosecutor’s Office for Prosecution of Organized Crime and Corruption on March 31, 2025, for the crime of “disclosure of official secret.”
