Patients Injured in Nightclub Fire to Return Home

Patients injured in the discotheque fire in Kochani will be returning home from treatment both abroad and within the country.

This week, patients with lighter injuries who have fully recovered are expected to return. Next week, patients with more serious injuries requiring rehabilitation will begin to arrive.

Minister of Health Arben Taravari stated that various options are being considered for the continued treatment of patients upon their return. These options include adapting the COVID center in ‘8 Septemvri’, utilizing the Rehabilitation Center in Kozle, and accepting offers from abroad for longer-term rehabilitation at no cost to the state. Discussions regarding these options will take place next week.

As of this morning, out of 193 injured, 93 have recovered and are receiving treatment at home. Currently, 100 patients remain hospitalized, with 20 in domestic hospitals and 80 still receiving treatment abroad.

Today, two patients, one from Poland and one from Belgium, are scheduled to return home.
