Panche Toshkovski’s Ministry Concludes Controversial Tender with Company Previously Accused of Corruption

The Ministry of Interior, led by Panche Toshkovski, has awarded a 575,000 euro tender to “Don Holding,” a company previously accused of corruption by VMRO-DPMNE. This decision has sparked criticism from the Levica party, who question the ministry’s choice.

Levica points out that VMRO-DPMNE, while in opposition, had alleged that “Don Holding” received tenders illegally from the Ministry of Interior under Oliver Spasovski, despite not meeting the necessary criteria. The party finds it contradictory that Toshkovski’s ministry is now engaging in similar deals with the same company.

The Levica party questions how a company once deemed unsuitable and entangled in a criminal scandal by VMRO-DPMNE is now considered a suitable recipient of a significant tender under Toshkovski’s leadership. They accuse the current government of continuing controversial deals initiated by the previous administration, rather than addressing past wrongdoings.

Levica also draws a parallel to the “Bechtel and Enka” project, which they claim VMRO-DPMNE has continued without revision, despite previous announcements. The party directly questions Toshkovski, asking if awarding tenders to a company his party previously denounced constitutes political scavenging. They are requesting clarification and emphasizing the need for consistent standards in awarding government contracts.
