A 16-year-old motorcyclist died in a traffic accident that occurred last night near the “Chairchanka” shopping center in Skopje. The accident involved the motorcycle and an electric scooter driven by a 14-year-old.

According to initial findings, the 16-year-old was driving without a driver’s license or a protective helmet, and was exceeding the speed limit. He failed to avoid the electric scooter, resulting in the collision.

The motorcyclist sustained severe injuries and died at the scene. The 14-year-old scooter driver was injured and hospitalized for treatment.

A public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje conducted an on-site investigation.

Authorities are securing and reviewing video surveillance footage from the area. An autopsy has been ordered for the deceased. The scooter driver will be tested for alcohol or other prohibited substances.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reported that the accident occurred on “Cvetan Dimov” Street in the Chair municipality of Skopje. The 16-year-old was driving a Piaggio Beverly motorcycle with Skopje license plates.

A doctor from the Emergency Medical Service confirmed the motorcyclist’s death at the scene. The 14-year-old’s injuries were confirmed at the Emergency Center at the “Mother Teresa” Clinic Complex.
