An Ohrid resident, A.I., was apprehended by police officers from SVR Ohrid following allegations of unlawful imprisonment and extortion. The arrest stems from a report filed by a man from Ohrid, who is related to the suspect.

The complainant stated that on March 31, 2025, at approximately 9 p.m., A.I. arrived at his residence, brandishing a firearm, and physically assaulted and threatened him. A.I. demanded the transfer of ownership of a passenger vehicle and demanded that he be employed in the complainant’s company. The suspect allegedly consumed a white powdery substance during the incident.

The complainant promised to comply with A.I.’s demands, after which they proceeded to the complainant’s company. It was at this location that the complainant managed to escape and subsequently reported the incident to the police.

Following A.I.’s detention, a search was conducted of his apartment and associated premises. Authorities discovered a pistol, bags containing cannabis seeds, cannabis residue, a grinder, objects bearing traces of a white powdery substance, and other related items.

Police have stated that a comprehensive investigation is underway, and an appropriate submission will be filed upon its conclusion.
