A 26-year-old man from Negotino was apprehended after stealing a car, driving under the influence of alcohol without a license, and breaking through tollbooth barriers on the A1 highway. The incident occurred on April 4, 2025, at approximately 11:15 PM.

Police officers from the Mihajlovo Border Police Station arrested the suspect, identified as M.D., at a gas station near Negotino. M.D. allegedly stole an Audi passenger vehicle belonging to S.D., 38, from Negotino. The vehicle was reportedly parked in the yard of the owner’s uncle.

While driving the stolen vehicle on the highway towards Veles, M.D. broke through a barrier at the “Vinichani” toll station. He then broke through another barrier at the same toll station while driving back towards Negotino.

Police officers intervened and brought the vehicle to a stop. Subsequent checks revealed that M.D. was driving without a valid driver’s license and had a blood alcohol content of 1.54 per mille.

M.D. was taken into custody at a police station, and the public prosecutor was notified. Following documentation of the incident, appropriate charges will be filed against him for the committed offenses under relevant articles of the Criminal Code.
