The Foreign Ministers of North Macedonia and Albania met today in Ohrid to discuss strengthening bilateral relations and cooperation. North Macedonian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mutsunski, hosted Albanian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Igli Hasani, with discussions centering on various areas of mutual interest.

A key focus of the meeting was on bolstering economic ties between the two countries. The ministers specifically addressed trade exchange, investment opportunities, and infrastructure projects related to Corridor 8, which connects both nations.

Both ministers addressed the ongoing Euro-integration processes and regional collaboration. They also explored avenues for mutual support of candidacies within regional initiatives and multilateral organizations.

As part of Minister Hasani’s visit, a new Consulate General of Albania was officially opened in Struga. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, this represents a significant step in fostering stronger consular, political, and economic cooperation between North Macedonia and Albania.
