Motorcyclist Hits 10-Year-Old Girl in Skopje

A 33-year-old man is facing legal consequences after hitting a 10-year-old girl with his motorcycle in Skopje. The incident resulted in serious bodily injury to the child, specifically a fracture, according to the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje.

The accident occurred on “John Kennedy” Street, in front of the “Vasil Glavinov” primary school. The girl was crossing the road at a designated pedestrian crossing when she was struck by the motorcycle. The driver failed to yield to the pedestrian and hit her with the front right side of his vehicle.

Authorities have revealed that the motorcyclist was operating the vehicle without a valid driver’s license for that category and was not wearing a protective helmet at the time of the incident.

The Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje has stated that “the suspect, as a participant in traffic on public roads, did not comply with the regulations, thereby endangering public traffic and endangering the body of people.”

To ensure the suspect’s presence during the legal proceedings, the public prosecutor proposed several precautionary measures, including a ban on leaving his place of residence, mandatory periodic reporting to a court official, and temporary confiscation of his travel documents. The court has approved these measures.
