The Ministry of Local Self-Government is actively supporting the reform of public administration, according to Minister Zlatko Perinski.

In the coming period, the focus will be on identifying factors that can increase trust in local authorities. Amendments to the Law on Local Self-Government will introduce mechanisms to strengthen inter-municipal cooperation, which is essential for better resource management, Perinski stated.

These actions will fulfill the recommendations from the 2024 SIGMA assessment mission for the country. The SIGMA mission is a joint initiative of the OECD and the European Union, aimed at strengthening the foundations for improved public administration.
