A woman with a serious ankle injury was rescued from the slopes of Mount Jablanica near Struga today in a joint operation by the Ministry of Interior’s Helicopter Unit and the SAE “Tiger” team. The rescue followed an alert received earlier in the morning.
The injured woman, a resident of Struga, was located in inaccessible terrain on the mountain. The Ministry of Interior’s Helicopter Unit responded to a request for assistance and deployed a helicopter to the area.
Police officers safely evacuated the injured woman from the mountain. She was then transported to the “St. Apostle Paul” International Airport in Ohrid.
Emergency Medical Assistance personnel met the helicopter at the airport. They took over the care of the injured woman and transported her for further medical treatment.
