Minister of Internal Affairs Attends Judo Training for Special Police Forces

The Minister of Internal Affairs, Panche Toshkovski, attended a judo training session for police special forces at the Training Center in Idrizovo. The training was led by an instructor from the International Judo Federation specializing in training police and army special units.

This initiative is a result of collaborative efforts outlined in the Memorandum of Cooperation between the Ministries of Internal Affairs and the Ministry of Sports and the Memorandum of Understanding between the National Judo Federation and the European Judo Federation. The latter was signed during the European Judo Championship for Cadets in Skopje last month.

Minister Toshkovski stated that the government is committed to investing in the training, knowledge, and readiness of its personnel. He emphasized the importance of building a strong, professional, and prepared police force capable of responding to modern security challenges and effectively dealing with crime. He noted that continuous physical readiness, especially of special units, is a priority.

According to Toshkovski these training sessions are conducted with a top judo coach with the direct engagement of the president of the European Judo Federation, Laszlo Toth.

He also mentioned that the hall has been equipped with specialized mats (tatami) and kimonos for police officers through the Ministry of Sports and the European Judo Federation. The ministry is planning comprehensive physical training programs for police officers in the future.
