The Minister of Education and Science, Vesna Janevska, congratulated elementary and high school students on their success at the end of the academic year. She also extended congratulations to teachers, professors, and parents for their contributions to education.
Janevska acknowledged the hard work of students and wished them a restful summer vacation filled with both leisure and learning. She encouraged them to balance play and reading with the development of new skills, socialization, and responsible computer use for research.
Recognizing the dedication of teachers and professors, Janevska highlighted their role in shaping young people and equipping them to face challenges. She emphasized the government’s appreciation for their efforts, citing a salary increase of over 12 percent and ongoing improvements to working conditions. She affirmed that educators are the foundation of a quality educational system.
Janevska also thanked parents and guardians for their partnership and support in fostering the progress of every child. She stressed that joint dedication is essential to building honest, fair, and responsible individuals with knowledge and values.
Looking ahead, the Minister announced the Ministry of Education and Science’s commitment to further improving the educational system. She mentioned the development of a new Education Strategy, efforts to establish single-shift work and extended stay programs in more schools, and ongoing improvements to infrastructure, curricula, and digitalization.
Janevska highlighted key achievements of the past academic year, including the provision of textbooks for previously uncovered subjects and the passage of key laws. She also noted collaborative work with municipalities to create peaceful and safe school environments, free from segregation and discrimination. She expressed the hope that everyone will work together even harder in the academic year 2025/2026 to provide children with the education they deserve.
