Minister Ljutkov Addresses Forum on Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe

Minister of Culture and Tourism, Zoran Ljutkov, emphasized the significance of cultural routes as paths of values, dialogue, shared heritage, and European unity at the opening of a Forum dedicated to the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe. The event showcased cultural routes in which North Macedonia participates.

Ljutkov highlighted North Macedonia’s active involvement in routes such as the “Route of St. Cyril and Methodius,” the “Iter Vitis Wine Route,” and the “Route of Roman Emperors and the Danube Wine Route.”

He stated that the Forum provides a valuable opportunity for experts and participants from various fields to discuss, exchange ideas, and share experiences regarding the future development of cultural routes.

Ljutkov noted the potential of North Macedonia, with its rich and diverse cultural heritage, to contribute to the network of Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe and to initiate new projects. He stressed the importance of showcasing the country’s values, from ancient history to modern cultural practices and spiritual heritage.

According to Ljutkov, the Cultural Routes of the Council of Europe play a vital role in fostering cultural tourism. He believes that these routes will attract more visitors to North Macedonia and strengthen the country’s economy through tourism.

The Minister concluded by inviting attendees to share ideas, collaborate, and develop cultural routes that not only guide tourists but also convey the values of communities across Europe.
