Mickoski: Export Growth, Construction, and Tourism Guarantee GDP Growth and Improved Living Standards

The trade deficit has decreased by 80 million dollars, a full 13%, which will contribute to the GDP, according to Hristijan Mickoski, President of VMRO-DPMNE. Mickoski made these remarks in response to a journalist’s question.

Mickoski noted a significant increase in exports and industrial production. Exports are up by 23% in euros and 28% in dollars. Industrial production has also seen growth, averaging 5.5% for April and May, with a notable 9.4% increase in May alone.

Mickoski emphasized that growth in various sectors will lead to improved living standards for citizens and an increase in the gross domestic product. Tourism has grown by over 20%, and investment activity has increased by more than 15%. The construction sector is also experiencing a boom.

Imports are significantly lower, decreasing by approximately 8% in euros and 12-13% in dollars. Mickoski anticipates that the positive trends will continue throughout the third and fourth quarters, leading to a successful GDP result in the second quarter.
