The Ministry of Environment and Spatial Planning is providing 229 million denars to support municipalities in addressing environmental challenges through the 2025 Program. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister Izet Mejiti met with the Association of Local Self-Government Units (ZELS) to present the public call for financing environmental projects.
A significant portion of the funding is designated for improving water supply and sewerage infrastructure. Minister Mejiti stressed the critical role of local self-government in implementing infrastructure and educational projects related to the environment.
The meeting covered the application process, criteria, and available support from the Ministry to ensure successful project preparation and execution. Municipalities can submit multiple project applications, and collaborative regional projects are encouraged.
ZELS representatives affirmed their commitment to informing and engaging member municipalities and expressed interest in organizing additional information sessions and workshops. The application deadline is April 29, and detailed information is available on the Ministry’s website.
