Deputy Minister Victoria Trajkov met with Mayor Marko Kolev to discuss the use of European funds for projects benefiting the citizens of Veles.

Mayor Kolev updated Deputy Minister Trajkov on the municipality’s current progress in utilizing these funds. Deputy Minister Trajkov stressed the ministry’s commitment to providing further staff training and application assistance to ensure efficient management and greater utilization of IPA and IPARD program funds.

Mayor Kolev highlighted EU-supported projects, including the construction and arrangement of the Vardar River quay in Veles through the “Creative opportunities in tourism” project, which aims to boost the local economy through cross-border cooperation with Greece.

Mayor Kolev emphasized the significance of EU support in enhancing the lives of citizens through such projects and expressed hope for the Ministry of European Affairs’ support in future infrastructure initiatives.

The meeting concluded with the outlining of specific actions to enhance the municipality’s capacity to utilize available European funds more effectively.
