Mayor Orce Gjorgjievski joined the residents of Crniche today at the Balaklija site to celebrate Eastern Friday, a significant Orthodox holiday. The celebration takes place annually during the first week after Easter.

Gjorgjievski expressed his delight that the site, which features a spring, has been restored to the community after being reclaimed from unlawful occupation. The area has been enhanced with improvements for visitors.

The mayor also shared his honor in being chosen as the godfather for next year’s celebration.

“May Eastern Friday – Balaklija last for many years! Next year the godfatherhood is mine, a gift from God for which I am greatly honored!” stated Gjorgjievski. He highlighted the importance of the holiday, dedicated to the Most Holy Mother of God, and the belief that the spring waters possess healing properties on this day.

Gjorgjievski emphasized his pride in the unity of the people and the rich cultural heritage of Macedonia. He extended his wishes for health and prosperity to everyone.
