Macedonian Olympic Committee Promotes National Team for European Youth Olympic Festival

The Macedonian Olympic Committee (MOC) has announced a national team of 203 members, including 181 athletes, for the upcoming European Youth Olympic Festival (EYOF) Skopje 2025. The event will take place from July 20 to 26 in Skopje, Kumanovo, and Osijek.

Macedonia will be represented in all 15 sports included in the program, marking a historic moment for the nation’s sporting endeavors.

Daniel Dimevski, President of the MOC and President of the Organizing Committee of EYOF Skopje 2025, emphasized the significance of the event, stating it is the largest ever organized in the country. He anticipates approximately 6,000 participants, including athletes, coaches, judges, officials, VIP guests, and volunteers.

Dimevski believes that participation in EYOF Skopje 2025 will be a crucial experience for the young athletes, aiding in their development into future sports champions. He expressed pride in forming a high-quality delegation, providing the best young talents with an opportunity to be part of the European Olympic context.

Vladimir Bogoevski, Sports Director of the MOC, highlighted the record number of sports and competitors at this year’s festival. He noted that this edition marks the 18th festival, with Macedonia having previously been represented by a total of only 50 athletes across all prior events. The delegation will be accommodated in student dormitories in Skopje and Kumanovo.

Svetlana Makaroska, Head of Mission of the Macedonian delegation, expressed confidence in the athletes’ ability to leave a strong impression at EYOF Skopje 2025. She introduced Shiny, the mascot symbolizing Olympic values, and announced Kristijan Smilev and Matea Popovska as the flag bearers for the opening ceremony. Makaroska anticipates strong public support for the athletes and hopes Macedonia will be the most successful delegation at the festival.
