Macedonian National Theatre Joins European Theatre Convention

The Macedonian National Theatre has been accepted as a member of the European Theatre Convention, a prominent network of theaters in Europe, following an address by Director Nikola Kimovski at the ETC General Assembly in Athens. This membership, decided unanimously by all members, provides the MNT with opportunities for European co-productions and the exchange of plays and artists with other European national theaters.

The ETC, comprising 63 member theaters from 31 countries, is dedicated to advancing contemporary drama, fostering artistic exchange, and promoting cultural diversity within European theater. The organization functions as a platform for dialogue and interaction, striving to engage diverse audiences and societies.

During the General Assembly, Director Kimovski met with ETC President Claudia Belchior. Further meetings are scheduled with directors of national theaters and festivals to discuss future collaborations and exchanges.
The ETC International Theatre Conference, “Thrive Theatre Thrive! Keep the Flame Alive,” is scheduled to take place from April 3 to 7, 2025, at the National Theatre of Greece in Athens.
