The Macedonian animated feature “John Vardar vs. the Galaxy” has been chosen to screen at BAFICI (Buenos Aires Festival Internacional de Cine Independiente) 2025, a leading independent film festival. Festival attendees in Buenos Aires can view the film on April 8, 10, and 11.
BAFICI programmer Manuel Ramirez, a film critic for “Pagina 12,” praised the film’s “rocker audacity and infectious comicality,” describing it as a black hole of chaotic, unusual adventures.
Director Goce Cvetanovski expressed respect for the festival’s courage in showcasing unconventional films and voiced pride in sharing “John Vardar” with the Argentinian audience.
BAFICI, recognized as Latin America’s largest independent film festival, is known for supporting auteur film and showcasing independent productions worldwide. The festival is holding its 26th edition this year.
“John Vardar vs. the Galaxy” received support from the Film Agency.
