The Dolno Blace – Elez Han border crossing has launched a joint border control system, also known as a “One Stop Shop,” streamlining the process for travelers. The new system includes updated physical and digital infrastructure, enabling single-stop passport control.
Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski stated that this modernization marks a significant step forward for citizens, the economy, and regional relations. He emphasized that the border should serve as a bridge connecting people, ideas, and opportunities, fostering trust, cooperation, economic partnership, and cultural and tourism development.
Mickoski highlighted that this common border point represents a move towards European values of cooperation, integration, and free movement.
Kosovo’s Prime Minister Albin Kurti noted that the project is the result of sustained effort and commitment, holding great importance for the citizens of both North Macedonia and Kosovo.
Kurti added that travelers will now undergo checks only upon entering the respective country, with real-time data exchange facilitated by a modern technological system. He also stated that over five million citizens crossed the three border crossings between the two countries in 2024 alone, underscoring the strong connection between the populations and the need for efficient movement of people and goods.
