North Macedonia is the only country in the region with access to the EU LIFE program, which offers €600 million for green projects. First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Spatial Planning, Izet Mexhiti, announced the official opening of calls for the #EULIFE25 program.

The program supports projects in four key areas: protection of nature and biodiversity, circular economy, climate action (mitigation and adaptation), and clean energy and sustainable sources.

Mexhiti urged domestic entities including the academic community, local governments, scientific and educational institutions, the private sector, and civil society organizations to apply for the open calls. He believes this is an opportunity to transform green ideas into EU-supported projects.

Interested parties are encouraged to register for the virtual #EULife25 info days from May 13 to 15. These info days provide a chance to receive guidance from European experts on completing applications.

“Your ideas, visions and initiatives for a sustainable future can now be supported with significant European funds,” Mexhiti stated on social media.
