Interior Minister Panche Toshkovski of North Macedonia met with his Kosovar counterpart, Xhelal Svechla, in Pristina today to discuss strengthening cross-border connectivity and evaluating the implementation of the “One Stop Shop” system. This system, recently launched at the “Blace-Elez Han” border crossing, aims to streamline border crossing procedures.
The ministers focused on the next phase of implementing the “One Stop Shop” system at the “Jazince-Globocica” border crossing. This expansion is expected to occur in the near future.
Minister Toshkovski highlighted the benefits of the “One Stop Shop” system, stating that it provides “one check instead of two, shorter waiting times and a better experience for passengers.” He also noted that it promotes more efficient work and better coordination for services, contributes to a stronger fight against illegal activities, and opens a new chapter of connectivity for both countries, leading to faster transport, increased trade, tourism, and stronger friendship.
In addition to the “One Stop Shop” system, the meeting addressed the current cooperation between the two ministries and police forces. Discussions centered on improving information exchange and enhancing the fight against cross-border crime.
