A 44-year-old man from Skopje has been indicted by the Basic Public Prosecutor’s Office Skopje on charges of stalking his ex-wife. The indictment, filed under Article 144-a paragraph 2 in connection with paragraph 1 of the Criminal Code, details a pattern of behavior that caused the victim to fear for her safety.
Between July and October 2023, the defendant allegedly engaged in repeated and unauthorized stalking activities. These actions included persistently following his ex-wife and attempting to make unwanted contact with her.
The prosecution claims the man made constant phone calls and sent numerous messages to the victim. He also allegedly loitered around her residence and followed her to her workplace.
Furthermore, the indictment states that the defendant’s phone calls and messages contained threats and insults, designed to mentally harass and intimidate his ex-wife. This behavior instilled a sense of insecurity, threat, and fear for her personal safety, according to the Prosecutor’s Office.
